Home Support for Learning
Celebrating learning through sharing activities and interests help build life experience for learning. As well, reading to, with or by your child, exploring language, solving real-life number related problems with your child, support with any projects, and practicing basic addition and subtraction facts to 20 support the learning at school.
Numeracy:
Include your child in number related tasks such as cooking, building, shopping, measuring, etc. The more math has meaning in their daily lives, the higher their interest and engagement will be in finding out how math works. Share with your child about how math is a part of your life at work and more. A highlight this past year has been adults, parents and staff, who have shared how math is used as a part of their careers. By the end of the year, we will be trying to know the addition and subtraction facts to 20 by memory. Find ways to bring these into your activities as a support for your child. |
