Language Arts
Language Arts is the process of communicating and receiving information and ideas through many different mediums and from many different sources. It involves reading, writing, listening, speaking and critical thinking skills throughout the curriculum. During the year, we will be developing skills and exploring ways to express and understand with more creative flexibility and comprehension. * This is my ongoing collection of language arts links. I have put buttons on here for some I feel are relevant to areas we are working on or ones I think would give the best practice while learning from home. |
Throughout the year we will work on the six English Language Arts areas (reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and representing). Tell me a storyDoes your family have favourite folktales, legends, teaching stories or the like? If so, please take time to share these together with your children This sharing may be in the form of oral storytelling or sharing a favourite book.
We will be looking at these kinds of stories as one of our models for writing as well as for source material in developing art works and dramatic presentations. We will also be using these as one of the ways we can come to understand values and lessons from many cultures in the world. |
