Reading –
That your child is practicing reading to themselves and to others is the most important goal here. The recommendation is that for every book they read that challenges them, they should be reading 3 books which are easier and allow them to work on fluency and extend comprehension.
Leveled texts will be included in folders for students who might benefit from reading at a certain level. These can be printed out or read as documents on the computer. Leveled texts can also be read on RAZ kids with short comprehension quizzes to check student understanding.
Reading response
Use Reading Response Activities, ReadOpoly, or similar prompts to respond to the book, article, etc your child is reading. These documents will be in the packages or folders for most students. I will also include ideas for journaling once a week.
